Dark mode is not a theme switch, it is a reading decision

Most of this platform gets watched in the dark — video pages, embeds, late-night uploads. The interface follows the system setting and never flashes white on load.

What carries over

• Cards, borders, and text swap as a system, not one value at a time.
• The player stays black in both modes, so nothing jumps between pages.
• Ad slots reserve their height in both themes — no layout shift.

What we refuse to do

Pure black backgrounds with pure white text cause halation on OLED panels, and dimming text to look calm quietly fails contrast. Neutral grays at tested ratios, accent only where a control lives.
