From URL to stream in seconds: the import extension explained
Paste a page URL, and the extension resolves the underlying media manifest, hands it to your ZeroStorage account, and lets the server do the rest.
What leaves your browser
- The media URL the page exposes — not your cookies for that site.
- Your ZeroStorage session, for the import itself.
- Nothing else: no history, no page content, no screenshots.
What happens next
- Server downloads the source media.
- FFmpeg transcodes to the HLS ladder.
- Thumbnails and subtitle tracks are generated.
- The file lands in your library like any other upload.
Where it stops
Sites that require DRM, signed cookies, or player-level challenges are out of scope on purpose. The extension reads what the page already serves you — it does not attempt to break protection.

Upload without an account: how anonymous sessions work
